The City District Government Lahore has given a free hand to the meat inspectors to launch a crackdown against illegal slaughterhouses in their respective areas and identify all such points within the next three days.
The meat inspectors have been instructed not to spare anyone found selling sub-standard meat, the city government sources stated on Friday.
The district administration directed the departments concerned to form special teams comprising secretaries of union councils and headed by town regulation officers to monitor the identified points continuously.
These teams will initiate action against illegal slaughtering points on a local level.
Following the crackdown, action will be taken against the meat inspectors for negligence if any illegal slaughterhouses are found to be operational.
