Hotels, bakeries fined for selling unhygienic food

Special monitoring teams of the district administration initiated a campaign against the food outlets selling adulterated and unhygienic food. The teams imposed fines of Rs 35, 500 on food service providers for selling substandard food items. The district Food department sources stated on Friday that food inspectors raided 154 hotels, marriage halls, sweet shops and bakeries in various areas of the city during the last two days and found a number of outlets operating in violation of the Pure Food Laws.

  1. The inspecting team led by the inspectors and other high officials of the health department dine free in the restaurants with their families and do not even pay a dime. They get compensated by the establishments where they inspect the products. The top hotels, restaurants and clubs violate all kinds of laws all the time but due to corruption at every level everywhere nothing is done about it. Like one of the top hotels do not even have hot water to wash dishes and the hoses are so old that they bust and dishes are washed with cold water. Hipatatis A, B & C is to be found all over.
