Punjab Labour Minister Haji Eshaan-ud-Din Qureshi has said the Punjab government will revise the child labour laws in view of the ratification by Pakistan on International Labour Organisation (ILO) conventions on child labour.
He said the ILO was assisting the government in adopting new laws under the 18th Amendment.
He expressed these views while presiding over departmental meeting at his office on Thursday regarding the socio-economic uplift and welfare of labourers.
The Minister said the government was committed to upgrading the socio-economic conditions of the labourer community and that 7, 000 brick kiln workers’ children have been registered in schools in the Lahore and Kasur districts while interest-free loans of Rs 75 million have been given to brick kiln workers.
Amend the Labour Laws according to Islam –
