Sindh Minister for Culture Sassui Palijo Thursday said Pakistan Peoples Party was opposed to any division of Sindh province.
She said, “We have passed the resolution in Sindh Assembly against such conspiracy and added that no one opposed the resolution that reflected the boundaries of Sindh should be remained intact”.
The minister said while addressing a memorial evening in the name of eminent writer, intellectual late Abdul Aziz Jafrani arranged by Provincial Culture Department at High School Sujawal last night. Sassui Palijo said PPP was the only party representing the people of Sindh and other provinces of the country and had rendered many sacrifices in the interest of poor people.
She said until and unless the legislators are sitting in the assemblies and poor people are with the PPP, no one can dare to harm the nation through conspiracies. She vowed even to scarify dearest and nearest to foil such conspiracies.
She said today some politicians were welcoming to the so-called leaders of Pro-Kala Bagh Dam which according to her, neither were friends of Sindh nor country as well because the Kala Bagh Dam was the project against integrity of the country.
She said that before supporting pro-Kala Bagh Dam leaders/political parties, they must get their opinion about Kala Bagh Dam and monetary issues of Sindh publicly. The minister said it was PPP that in the leadership of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto struggled against Kala Bagh Dam and finally buried it forever. Referring to the recent public meeting organized by PPP at Kamon Shaheed, Sassui Palijo said participation of people in millions has proved that PPP representing aspiration of poor people and enjoy the public support.
She eulogized the services of Late Aziz Jafrani in the field of literature and culture and added that he was a great person who had delivered marvelous services.
A book “Makala-Aein-Mazmon” of Aziz Jafrani is being published by her department and announced for publication of other four new books of late Aziz Jafrani by Culture Department which included Manjar Ji Adab Nawazi, Tareekh Bait-ul-Mukadas, Islam Aein Jadidiyat and Islam Aein Quamiyat, she added.
Sassi also announced for establishing a public library in the name of Aziz Jafrani in Sujawal. She said her department was engaged in the publication of literary work of many other writers, scholars, researchers of Sindh including Dr. N. A. Baloch, Amar Jaleel and Jamal Abro and was doing meaningful research on the poetry of Shah Sachal and Sammon.
She also launched the book of Abdul Aziz Jafrani under the title of Sujawala Ji Samaji, Siyasi, Aein Sakafati Tareekh. The Sindh Minister for Culture Ms. Sassui Plijo also presented a memorial shield to the son of Aziz Jafrani Mr. Farooque Aziz. The Provincial Secretary Culture Abdul Aziz Uqaili also spoke on the occasion. The Director General Culture Rafique Ahmed Buriro, Director Culture Mohammad Ali Manjhi, Secretary Sindhi Language Authority Taj Joyo, Apa Mariyam Majeedi, Ex-Secretary Culture Shams Jafrani and other writers and intellectuals also shared their views on the occasion.
