Rs 1m looted from Rawalpindi bank in armed robbery

Armed robbers took away more than one million rupees from a private bank here on Wednesday. According to police, five armed robbers barged into a branch of a private bank located in the Dheri Hasanabad area of Rawalpindi. The dacoits held the bank staff hostage at gun point and looted cash worth more than a million rupees. The robbers also injured a security guard of the bank who offered resistance during the robbery attempt. Police arrived at the scene after the robbers had fled with the cash, and cordoned off the area.
