In light of the Supreme Court’s order, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials on Wednesday arrested a member of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), Mansoor Muzafar, over corruption charges. The NAB conducted investigation about OGRA embezzlement and submitted a report in the SC, stating that corruption of more than Rs 80 billion had been proved in various OGRA projects. In the NAB report submitted to the SC, incumbent Ogra members Mansoor Muzaffar, Mir Kamal Marri and several of their cronies were also found to be guilty. The NAB had prepared the respective arrest warrants but the bureau’s prosecutor general (PG) was not giving his consent due to his political allegiance with the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
