QAU inaugurates renovated floors of DRSM library

Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Masoom Yasinzai on Monday inaugurated the newly renovated floors of `Dr Raziuddin Siddiqui Memorial Library’ to facilitate the students.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Masoom Yasinzai said Dr Raziuddin Siddiqui Memorial (DRSM) library of the university has been renovated to create more space for the students so that they can study the books and use computer facility comfortably.
He said that the library has a stock of 250,000 books on diversified subjects including science, arts, computer, languages, history, philosophy, media studies and others. He directed the officials of the library to allocate a separate portion of the library to create a lab for the students of social sciences department.
Dr Yasinzai said that the university is paying special focus on inculcating reading habit among the students, giving them more facilities. “Progress of any nation can be determined through its inclination towards education and it is necessary to ensure students’ easy access to knowledge and research,” he observed.
PMD to share important
information with stakeholders: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) will maintain a close coordination with the Ministry of Climate Change and also share important information with stakeholders within three to five minutes in case of any emergency.
An official of Pakistan Meteorological Department told APP on Monday that different steps are being taken for close coordination with the Ministry of Climate Change like daily coordination and meeting of all stakeholders, including Ministry of Climate Change and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) during monsoon/ flood season for reviewing the prevailing weather.
He said the dissemination of earthquake information and reports through SMS to the concerned officials in the Ministry of Climate Change/ NDMA and other emergency and relief departments within (3 to 5) minutes.
