Senior Federal Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) central leader Ch. Parvez Elahi has said the Punjab PML-N government has miserably failed in providing relief to the common man and that the people are returning to their original party-the PML-Q. “The winds of change have started blowing across Punjab province as the people have realised that the Pakistan Muslim League is the only party that can provide solutions to their problems,” Elahi said while talking to a delegation of dignitaries from Chakwal who formally joined the PML-Q. The delegation which was led by Raja Muhammad Noor, included Col (r) Muhammad Inayat, Raja Muhammad Yunus, Majid Yusuf, Muhammad Tahir Nambardar, Thekadar Malik Khalid Mehmood, Hamid Nawaz, Muhammad Yunus, Seith Barkat Ali, Muhammad Adalat, Muhammad Iqbal, Raja Maqbool, Raja Daraz, Muhammad Imran, Khalil Ahmed Nambardar, Muhammad Afzal, Muhammad Hussain Bhatti and Muhammad Abbas and others.
A prominent political figure of the area, Hafiz Ammar Yasir, was also present in the meeting.
Chaudhry Parvez Elahi welcomed the delegates and said that as the Punjab chief minister, he had visited Chakwal almost ten times during 2002-2007, and had completed development schemes worth billions of rupees by constructing dams, schools, colleges and roads to help the common man prosper.
He said the PML will contest the next polls with a renewed vigour and vitality and will introduce a new leadership for the people. He said serving the people was the hallmark of the PML-Q and the party will continue to follow its cherished legacy.
Elahi said the self-proclaimed political pundits had made flawed assumptions that after the 2008 elections, the Q-League would cease to exist.
