PPP’s strategies

It is amazing and amusing the way Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is running its government. Thousands of men women and children come out on streets, damage almost every thing that comes in their way, hundreds of thousands worth of public and private property is damaged and the President takes notice and calls for a meeting to give 48 hours notice to downgrade loadshedding. Sometimes milk, sometimes sugar, sometimes tea or such basic family eatables disappears from the market or hoarded by suppliers; the PM wakes up and issues emergency orders.

Planes crash and immediately committees, commissions, judicial inquiry is ordered; which then becomes controversial. Bannu jail is broken, some 200 plus criminals runs to North Waziristan; a lit of negligent personnel appear on TV and nothing happens. Is it not that the government is giving people such things as a gift? Electricity, eatables, roads, railways, transport, security and the like are given to people only after agitation and destruction of public property.

The PM and the President are busy handling their court cases, here and abroad, and saving their positions. The pretty faces are constantly financed to keep playing their ignoble roles to defend the government when and if it comes under gruelling fire by some anchors. Is this the governance tactics and strategies of PPP? To me honestly, it seems that there is a lip-service war of words between PML (N) and PPP.

The purpose of this war of wits is to keep people happy and occupied, after all so much dust has to be brushed under the carpet. Let it be known to these people in Islamabad that we the poor people are not interested in Swiss Banks accounts or Musa Gilani’s surreptitious activities or Hina Rabbani’s innocent facial expressions or the sarcastic smiles of Fozia Wahab or the eyes make up of Sharmila or Shazia or even in Hitler style of Shahbaz Sharif; we get worried for evening food when it is 4pm daily.
