The City District Government Lahore Environment Protection Department, taking notice of the improper disposal of hazardous medical waste by a laboratory, sent the case to its legal branch for further action. According to EPD sources, while monitoring the city’ labs, found out that a private medical lab (Zeenat lab) at Riwaz Garden was not abiding by the Hospital Wastage Management Rules (HWMR).The authorities sent the case to the EPD legal branch for further action. It may be mentioned here that last week the department noticed that six private hospitals and labs were flouting the HWMR. Their cases were also sent to the EPD legal branch for further action.
