Public and private organisations as well as educational institutions organised colourful programmes on the occasion.
On the day, people across the world express gratitude for the hardships a mother bears in bringing up a child.
Like every year, the day was marked with the same spirit and enthusiasm and public and private organisations as well as schools arrange colourful programmes in connection with Mother’s Day celebrations.
The mother’s week celebrations started from Monday and private channels telecasted special transmission in this connection since then, while they present different plays and shows to highlight the importance of the day and recognise the amazing role of mothers.
Several other countries celebrate Mother’s Day on different dates depending upon what they have decided about the specific day.
People send their mothers cakes, cards, flowers, small fruit or gift baskets, sweets, candies and chocolates. In the recent years, the most dedicated gifts for the Mother’s Day have been flowers, perfumes, cakes and special sweets.
In a message on the occasion‚ Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said mother had a vital status in the universe and the cradle of the mother was the first educational institution of a human being.
