Tanvir’s top t20 score with the bat is 60 off 44 balls, which came against the Lahore Lions in his home competition in 2011.
Rhodes said he was delighted to secure a deal for Tanvir who was recently named in the 16 man squad to represent Pakistan in their upcoming two match Twenty20 series in Sri Lanka.
Director of Cricket, Steve Rhodes, said: “Sohail is an ideal replacement for Saeed Ajmal because Saeed was a tremendous bowler at the death and this is the type of role we want Sohail to play.
