Joining the chorus against power outages, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has given an ultimatum to the government to end load shedding in two days or else he would join the protests himself.
He was addressing a mammoth public rally organized as part of the PML-N’s “Remove Gilani” movement. “Over 20 hours of power outages have really irked the common man,” he said in an emotional tone.
Expressing despair with the present government, the PML-N president said he would not sit idle until the fate of the country was not changed. He asked Shahbaz Sharif, the Punjab chief minister, to allocate a Rs 1 billion as “Khushab Package”.
“I request him to increase the already allocated amount of Rs 500 million to Rs 1 billion.” Nawaz said he had nothing to do with the power and government, rather his mission was to bring progress and prosperity in the country. “During our reign India was less developed than Pakistan, but now the circumstances have changed and Pakistan is being degraded throughout the world,” he added. Nawaz said no general had the right to topple a democratic government.
“A military man wasted 10 years of my life,” he said. He said that the government led by the PPP had given the nation nothing but corruption, power shortage, lawlessness and unemployment. Nawaz said as the prime minister he rejected the US offer of billions of dollars in exchange for not conducting nuclear tests, while President Asif Zardari’s government had transferred millions of dollars abroad.
Addressing the public rally, Nisar Ali Khan said both the president and prime minister were now convicted by the court. “We are not asking for votes in the upcoming elections, but asking you come on roads against skyrocketing powers outages,” he added. “The country’s top brass is making fun of the common people as they are looting the country’s wealth to transfer the money abroad.”

  1. Very well said Mr. Nawaz Sharif that finish power outages in two days or else I will switch off power supply at my Raivind Palace and will practice to live without light.

  2. These seem to be comments of a PMLN or PTI worker. Pakistan need not an enemy to destroy it. Contrarily, it is our so called enemy who avoided to avail of all the opportunities that were prvided by Mullah-military alliance, Punjabi elite classes, Punjab dominated media, Punjab dominated military, and bureaucracy thru their promotion of fanatic, terrorist, anti-Sindh, anti-Baluchistan, and anti-KP policies. We are an international parriah state because of mindless policies of above-mentioned powerful sections of our society. In their presence we need no enemy. Rather, it is our power enemies who have saved Pakistan in their own inte

  3. NawazSharif is responsible for Loadshedding. He cancelled TharCoalPower project in 1997. As a result, we still face loadshedding. If he had not taken that decision, there wud hv been no loadshedding by now.

  4. A sold out to Sharif person is sitting on the editorial bench of this newspaper who blocks nall the criticism of Sharif Brothers.

  5. Continued…The same person can print comments even against himself or his mother, but he cannot print comments against Sharif brothers or PMLN becoz he is sold out to them

  6. Jabal, you are an idiot! Atleast first try to understand what you are trying to copy and paste. Continously changing your name does not make you any less ignorant. There is not even a comment made by anybody in favor of nawaz in this string of post. Shows your complete lack of understanding of english language.

  7. Had nawaz sharif not been there, we would have had e same biased courts and zardari would have had sold Pakistan uptill now,had nawaz sharif not been here, the rpps would have had taken the rest of electricity away. Had nawaz sharif not been there, there would have been no parliament rather a rubber stamp . And if nawaz sharif resigns from na, the next general elections would be held under zardari which would bring another terrible era of the ppp govt which I can never accept.so I support nawaz sharif .hes much much better than zardari. Atleast he's standing up with all his stances he took 4 years back.
And imran khan turned out to be a great disappointment.all he's doing is helping ppp win the next elections.

    • Had there been RPP and SC had not stopped their construction, there wud not have been 4000 billion loss to industry by now. These vendetta driven orders which sought to stop expenditure of just 200 billion on RPP resulted in 4000 billion loss to national industry. Even now federal govt is showing good performance by keeping exports about the same level of last year.

      • Rpp projects were fatal for our economy.supreme court has actually saved Pakistan..it's not just the initial investment, moreover it's higher rates of electricity that would have killed the industries. Adb which has always been at front foot at granting loans to pakistan also criticized these projects and refused to grant loans to the govt due the poorly drafted policies of these projects and the corruption and commissions involved in these projects. So get your facts corrected. It takes 2 years to build a power house..it's been 4 years now, how many power houses have they installed? This govt has worsened the loadhshedding due to its lack of vision.

      • Lol.so this is how you judge an economy?by its exports? Dude do you even know what the 'potential' exports of pakistan are ?its more than double of its right now..so I would credit our industries and the businessmen to be working in such harsh conditions created by this govt.

    • Bhai Reader, Nawaz Sharif's corruption is episodical. His politics evolved out of corruption of 1980ies and his political edifice is mired in monstrous scandals, like Motorway, YelloCabs, ZailPak cement, MCB privatization. His is enterpurenial and land mark corruption< Corruption is hallmark of Sharif brothers' politics. Lacking in intellectual prowess they use money to advance their interests. Khosa's corroborating note is a recent and unique example. Chor ki darhi mei tinka

  8. Express Tribune criticizes ill-advised policies of Punjab-dominated establishment which have resulted in alienation of minority provinces from Pakistan. I am sure it is a patriotic, rather" Critical patriotic" newspaper and not "hypocritical patriotic" that "Pakistan Today" is.

  9. Express tribune is not patriotic as it is owned by group that owns Wall Street Journal and International Herald tribune. These are nothing more than the voice of America's imperialist establishment.

  10. Mr. AmirAi, All Pakistani Rightist political elements, army, bureaucracy, generals have prided in being pro-American, becoz USA people are believers and trust in God. Look at our 65 years history since 1947, and even before that, USA govt appointed its ambassador to Pakistan even before Pakistan came into being in 1947, remember all this. It is actually a guarantee that Express TYribune is patriotic. All other people who raise voice for democracy, oppose monopoly of Punjabi-dominated army, oppose mullah-military alliance which always had USA and Pak Army blessing. All this is a sign that Wall Street owned " Express Tribune" is a patriotic newspaper.

  11. Jabal, can you give us your definition of "patriotic"? Its not safe for people like you to have internet access 🙂

  12. Fed-up of these shallow threats. I will do this, will do that, will march, etc. Be a man MNS. We want to hear from you I have done this, I have done that. Change your tune now.
