President’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar has called upon Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to avoid leading protest demonstrations on the issue of power load shedding, saying that he should better use parliament to register protest in this regard. Talking to reporters on Friday‚ Babar said instead of walkouts‚ the PML-N should participate in the proceedings of both the houses of parliament to suggest measures for resolving the issue.
He said an effective strategy was being devised to resolve the issue of accumulative circular debt. He said a Central Control Unit had been set up in Islamabad to monitor the unscheduled power outages across the country. The officials concerned would be held responsible and punished for unscheduled load shedding in their respective areas.
