PPP movement to continue till removal of Punjab govt: Warraich

Pakistan Peoples Party Punjab President Imtiaz Safdar Warraich has said the PPP’s movement will continue till the removal of the present Punjab government.
He was talking to the media before initiating a car rally on Friday, to be taken out from the Punjab office to Sheikhupura, to express solidarity with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.
He said the rally was part of the programme announced by the PPP Punjab chapter and that the spirit of the PPP workers was at its peak and thousands of workers had come to express their support for their leadership.
Criticising Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, he said the Punjab government was free to launch its own power projects after the passage of the 18th amendment but not a single project had been initiated in the province.
He alleged that the Punjab CM was involved in corruption of billions of rupees under the cover of the laptop scheme.
He stated that the PML-N workers were burning PPP offices but the police was not taking any action.
In reply to a question, he said the Punjab CM had never taken up any point about equal loadshedding of electricity and natural gas in the energy conference and alleged that the Punjab government was not following the decisions taken in the conference.
He said Ch Nisar had asked the British government not to provide protocol to Prime Minister Gilani but UK not only provided protocol to the PM but also organised his speech in the House of Commons.
PPP Punjab General Secretary Haji Aziz ur Rehman Chan, Information Secretary Raja Amir Khan, Deputy Information Secretary Iqbal Sialvi and hundreds of workers joined the car rally.
