Local govt demolishes PCB security cordon

The security cordon that was recently developed by the Pakistan Cricket Board at the main entrance its headquarters at the Gaddafi Stadium to prevent any terrorism was on Friday demolished by the city district government officials. The PCB as part of the security plan to invite foreign teams to play in Pakistan constructed security walls at the main entrance of the PCB headquarters but the TMO officials without any notice as the official of the PCB said, raised the walls to ground. It has been learnt that last week the government officials in negotiations with the PCB COO Subhan Ahmed agreed to let the walls in tact but on Friday they demolished them without giving any warning to the PCB leaving the board insecure.
The PCB official said that in such a circumstances who come a foreign team would visit Pakistan to revive international cricket. The security cordon was under construction when the Bangladesh security team visited Pakistan and agreed to play two matches at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium to revive international cricket but they later refused when their High Court prevented them to travel to Pakistan. The open boundary wall of the PCB where the cricket officials feel insecure would never be able to hold international cricket in such a circumstances, believes the official.
