LUMS Vice-Chancellor Dr Adil Najam gave a presentation on Global Environmental Governance at the Annual Conference of WWF-International in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Speaking to an audience of WWF national and international leaders and a large number of global thought leaders on issues related to the environment and sustainable development, Dr Najam highlighted the importance of connecting global, regional, national and local governance issues. He is a leading global expert on international environmental governance and has written extensively on the subject.
In his talk, the LUMS Vice-Chancellor stressed on the importance of understanding environmental governance as a connected web of relationships between issues as agencies rather than a linear and top-down process of regulation and implementation.
Dr Najam emphasised that we do have far more ‘artifacts’ of governance in the international system today.
Dr Najam, who was recently elected a Trustee of the International Board of WWF, is in Rotterdam to attend the International Board Meeting and Annual WWF Convention.
His talk on environmental governance was part of an ‘ideas factory’ process which included invited presentations by a group of leading global intellectuals and practitioners on sustainable development. WWF-Pakistan is also represented at the Annual meeting by Director General Ali Habib and Board President Khalid Mahmood.
He is NOT a PAKISTANI.Loves anything Indian and is US citizen.Watchout before you trust this man.
@Pakistani
Dear Sir,
You're either misguided or mislead on this. I can easily vouch for 100% Pakistanism in Dr. Najam. Infact, I heard him reciting this lyric during an interview to a US channel.
Bass yehi pehchaan thi meri,
har pechaan se pehle bhi
Pakistan ka shehri tha mei,
Pakistan se pehle bhi
