A police officer, who escaped a bomb attack on Thursday, was gunned down by unidentified men outside his residence in Killi Kamalo area in the outskirts of Quetta on Friday. Sub-inspector Syed Jamal Shah was on his way home when two armed motorcyclists opened indiscriminate firing on him and fled. He received multiple bullet wounds and succumbed to his injuries before being given medical aid. After receiving the information, police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. The body was taken to Bolan Medical Complex where doctors pronounced him dead.
The banned Baloch Republican Army had claimed the responsibility for yesterday’s bomb attack. When contacted, DIG (operations) Qazi Abdul Wahid said the deceased remained unhurt in yesterday’s remote control bomb attack in which one police constable was killed while three others were injured. A senior police officer, Shahnawaz Khan has already been gunned down close to his residence for which Lashkar-e-Jhangvi had claimed responsibility. Meanwhile, a superintendent of Police Fareedullah Bareech died of brain hemorrhage late on Friday night.
