NUML holds German language speech contest

Following the tradition of other language departments, German Department of National University of Modern University (NUML) on Thursday arranged a speech contest, giving opportunity and exposure to students for demonstrating their linguistic skills while learning at the campus. Besides speeches, the students of German Language Department also presented skits, songs and poetry of Dr Muhammad Allama Iqbal in German language. The chief guest at the speech contest was deputy head, Mission of German Embassy Stephan Roken. The event was also attended by German Deputy Defence Attache, Lt-Col Klaus Wolf, Cultural Attache Dr. Thomas Ditt, and many other embassy officials. Deputy Head Mission Stephan Roken, praising the performances of the students, said that it is immense pleasure to see the remarkable performance of the students in German language. It really pleased to know that a student with mere three months coaching has started speaking a very difficult language like German language. The credit of these performances goes to the faculty and head of German Language Department and they deserve applause for their dedication to their profession.
