Land dispute claims 5 lives in Faislabad

At least five people were killed when two armed groups opened fire on each other over a land dispute in Faisalabad, police said on Thursday. Police said the incident occurred in jurisdiction of Samundari police station when a land conflict between two people named Ashraf and Mazhar turned violent. On Wednesday night, Mazhar opened fire on his rival Ashraf while he was sitting in his house. As a result Ashraf’s two sons were killed on the spot while Ashraf, his other son Waheed and a minor girl were severely injured. In retaliation, two attackers Waseem and Moazzam were also killed. The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Faisalabad where Muhammad Ashraf succumbed to injuries. Police took the bodies into their custody and started investigation.
