Traffic congestion in the Jail Road service lanes has become a severe problem as auto showrooms owners occupyshowrooms owners occupy the space by parking their vehicles there. When asked, the showroom owners said they have repeatedly asked the city government to provide them with proper parking facilities, but so far nothing has been done in this regard.
Talking to APP, the residents of the area said they had asked the showroom owners to park their vehicles at proper parking spaces and that the owners do not pay heed to their requests. Car drivers stranded in the service lanes claimed they were waiting for one and a half hours but no traffic warden had arrived to redirect the traffic. The traffic wardens at the showroom owners had been given warnings which they have not taken seriously.
These showroom owners are a bunch of thugs. It will not be easy to move them.
