A remote-controlled bomb blast occurred near GT Road here targeting DSP Faqirabad on Friday morning.
According to police sources, remote-controlled bomb was planted near a manhole that went off with big bang when a police van was passing from Chughal Pura area of Peshawar. DSP Faqirabad Banaras Khan was the target of the blast, the police said he remained safe.
Several vehicles present near the site of the blast were damaged.
Security forces reached the scene and cordoned off the area after the explosion and investigations and search for hunting militants was started.
