DCO orders action against unlawful changes in building plans

The Lahore Development Authority has decided to take stern action against the officers concerned in case of any unlawful change and alteration in the existing structure of a building or conversion of its land use without prior approval of the competent authority.
LDA DG Ahad Khan Cheema on Thursday issued directions to the deputy directors and assistant directors of the Town Planning Wing or Commercialization that they will be held responsible and accountable in case of such unlawful activity.
According to the new policy, the Director Town Planning or Commercialization, concerned, being in-charge of the relevant Directorate and Chief Town Planner LDA, being overall in-charge of the Town Planning Wing, will also ensure and supervise the strict enforcement of Building Control and the Building Use Laws and Commercialization Policy in all the LDA housing schemes, approved private schemes and controlled area of LDA. The DG passed on these instructions in pursuance of the “Land use Survey” recently conducted by the Town Planning Wing of LDA in different LDA controlled schemes and areas in order to ascertain the ground reality regarding the stage of construction, use of building etc.
