A commander of Ex-Peace Committee was killed while five other persons sustained bullet injuries when some unidentified armed persons opened indiscriminate fire on their vehicle in the Raghzai area of Gomal, 40 kilometers west from here, police and hospital sources said.
According to details, a vehicle carrying six persons on board, three of them ex-pro-government militants, was on its way from Raghzai to Gomal when it was targeted with sophisticated weapons.
The fire left six persons critically injured who were rushed to DHQ Tank for medical cover. However one of the injured persons named Shafiullah succumbed to his injuries in Tank hospital.
The rest of the injured include Attaullah, Ahmad, Muhammad Ayub, Allah and Khadam Gul. Four of the injured in precarious condition were referred to DHQ D.I. Khan.
The slain Shafiullah reportedly belonged to the ex-anti Taliban Peace committee which was formed in Gomal to combat the militants of TTP.
It may be recalled here that a number of pro-government militants including Tank Peace Committee Commander Shahabuddin Burki had been killed during past year which sparked panic among the pr-government circles who took up arms against the TTP.
