Three children were burnt alive as a fire broke out in a house in the Ghazana area, on the outskirts of Peshawar, on Wednesday. According to the police, the fire was so severe that the ill-fated minors succumbed to their burn injuries before the Rescue 1122 workers could manage to douse the blaze. The victims are identified as five-year old Fatima, daughter of Naseer, six-year old Mahaz, son of Tariq and five-year old Asim, son of Naseer.
Among the three minors, two were siblings. A pall of grief enveloped the entire locality as the dead bodies of the minors reached their homes. The reason behind the fire has not been ascertained yet, but it is speculated to have been caused by short circuiting of electricity.
