Indian Supreme Court on Thursday allowed Pakistani scientist Dr Khalil Chishti, serving prison for 20 long years, to leave for Pakistan on humanitarian grounds.
The court ordered him to return to India for appearing before the court on November.
Talking to media Chishti said that he was thankful to Indian apex court. He has been languishing in Indian jails since 1992.
He was released on bail from Ajmer jail on April 11. He was convicted in a murder case in 1992.
President Asif Ali Zardari had taken the issue with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during his day long visit to the country.
