Judges in Faisalabad continued their strike in protest against the lawyer who hurled a shoe at a judge, causing difficulties for the clients whose cases were left pending in the courts. Sources said the tension between the lawyers and judges continued at the Faisalabad District Bar as 17 additional judges, 40 civil judges and eight special courts judges stopped working as a protest against the shoe-throwing incident in the local court. The clients are suffering the most due to the situation. 5,000 cases are heard at Faisalabad’s courts daily, besides the 2,000 cases heard at the special courts. The judges said they will not resume work till the registration of a case against the lawyer involved in the incident. On the other hand, the local lawyers have announced that they will defend their colleague at every cost.
