Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has launched a mobile phone banking service in five districts of the country to ensure speedy transfer of cash grants to its beneficiaries. Free mobile phone sets have been provided under the service which would be extended to other districts as well in future, an official at the BISP said on Thursday. The official said besides Mobile Phone Banking Service, a debit card and smart card has also been introduced in 56 districts with plans to reach more than 120 districts by end of June this year. He said now disbursements of BISP cash grants to beneficiaries are being made through Pakistan Post by using money orders, Banks by using Benazir Debit/smart cards and mobile phone banking after every three months.
