And rumor has it that the bauble was actually an engagement ring, and now she and beau Simon Konecki are gearing up to tie the knot. But is Adele, whose previous “rubbish relationship” inspired the Grammy-winning tunes of 21, really ready to take the plunge? Should we be expecting a lovey-dovey record from the break-up queen any day now? The answer would be no! The ‘Someone Like You’ singer took to Twitter, telling her followers she was not set to walk down the aisle anytime soon. “Had a lovely birthday, thanks for all the messages. I got a blossom tree! I didn’t get a cake from Rih Rih and I’m not engaged, blah blah x,” the Daily Mail quoted her as tweeting. Adele’s reference to Rihanna came in the wake of reports that she had received a cake in the shape of a naked lady from the singer. Despite her denial, Adele and Rihanna have long been fans of each other’s work, with Rihanna saying at the BRITs in February: ‘Really I came to the BRITs to stalk Adele. ‘It was nothing about the awards or the performance, for me it was just to see Adele again. In the more factual realm, Adele leads all comers heading into the 2012 Billboard Music Awards-which tallies album and single sales-as a finalist in 18 categories, including Top Artist, Top Female Artist and Top Billboard 200 Artist.
