A bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday heard the petition against police operation in Lyari which ended inconclusively on Friday.
The petition was filed by Salahuddin Advocate, describing the crackdown against ‘peaceful’ and ‘innocent’ citizens of Lyari as violation of fundamental rights protected under the constitution, a private TV channel reported.
On Tuesday, SHC Division Bench, comprising Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Nadeem Akhtar heard the case.
For today’s hearing, the court had issued notices to respondents including Home Secretary, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh and Senior Superintendent of Police CID Chaudhry Aslam.
