Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s counsel Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan on Tuesday said there were more mistakes in the detailed verdict of the Supreme Court than in the short order issued on April 26, Dawn News reported.
Ahsan criticised the detailed judgment of the apex court in the contempt of court case against the prime minister issued on Tuesday. “I am not satisfied with the verdict,” he added.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) legal wizard vowed to present concrete evidence before the court once the prime minister files an appeal against the verdict. He said the judges should not have exceeded limits over the issue of ethics and morality. “There are more mistakes made in the detailed verdict to overcome the previously made mistakes in the short order,” said the premier’s counsel.
Ahsan pointed out that several “leads” have been found in the detailed verdict which would help in appealing against it. The counsel prohibited himself from further commenting on the verdict however he said that short orders could not be issued in criminal trials.
