Korean company to generate 300MW solar power

A four member delegation of CX Korea related to Solar Energy Project led by Executive Director Mr. KO YOUNG SUN had a meeting with Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah at C.M House on Monday.
Chief Minister Sindh welcomed the Korean delegation interested in Solar Energy Project, to be initiated and established in Sindh Province. He said that the provincial government has made arrangements for provision of infrastructure and facilities to the investors.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that various Korean firms and groups are extending their services throughout province and are working on various projects.
The head of Korean delegation Mr. KO YOUNG SUN apprised the meeting that Global R&BD Division of CX Korea has informed that after completion of formalities of NEPRA, Ministry of WATER and POWER etc. their company will initiate project of establishment of 10 MW solar energy plant which will later be extended upto 300 MW power generation through solar energy. He further informed that the 10 MW plant will be ready upto December, 2012 and firstly the plant will be extended upto 100 MW while later it will be extended upto 300 MW up to 2015.
SUN informed that Germany and Korea have made good achievements in solar energy, and Korean Global construction will fulfill the requirements and initiate and complete the project as per commitment.
He further informed that KAPCO-DAEWOO Engineering will provide project financing and for the purpose, they required 1200-acre land for 300 MW project; as the project need 4 acre land per one MW power through solar energy.
Chief Minister Sindh appreciated the briefing by Korean delegation and hoped that Solar Energy Project will bring power generation for the development and progress of Province.
The delegation included Dr. CHOI, MOON SOK Chief Executive officer CXK, Mr. KIM JOONYCUN (John) Project Manager Global R&BD Division CXK, Mr. SHIN, UN, former Ambassador to Pakistan CXK, Chairman Board of Investment Sindh. Mr. Zubair Motiwala, Syed Feroz Shah, Mrs. Nasreen Ali Director General BOI, Prime Minister Secretariat, Principal Secretary to CM Agha Jan Akhter and others.

  1. A welcome step by CM Sindh. If all the provinces take such steps, the menace of load-shedding would vanish automatically. What about our largest province? I think it should shun the politics of laptops and Danish Schools and concentrate on the real problems being faced by the masses, energy being one of them. The people want to see the things happening! How much time does it need? What has it done during the last 4-1/2 years? NIL by NIL!!!
