The first phase of the HSC Annual Examinations 2012 of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) began in a smooth manner from Monday.
This was stated by the Chairman of the BIEK, Prof. Anwar Ahmed Zai, on Monday.
He said that today Islamiat paper was conducted for the Muslim candidates of Pre-Engineering and Pre-Medical Group. For non-Muslim candidates there was paper of Ethics.
Chairman BIEK informed that the question papers were dispatched at the examination centres in time and adequate security arrangements were also made. He said that he along with Deputy Commissioner Central, Dr. Saif ur Rehman, visited two examination centres- Abdullah Government Girls College and Jinnah Government College for Boys.
Anwar Ahmed Zai said that he witnessed load shedding at both these centres. A candidate was also caught using unfair means at the Jinnah Government Boys College.
BEIK Chairman informed that Commissioner Karachi, Roshan Shaikh, Assistant Commissioners and the Super Vigilance team of the BIEK also visited the examination centres.
Meanwhile, in the first phase, the examinations of Science Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Commerce (Regular), Home Economics and Computer Science groups will be conducted.
A total of 230,000 candidates would appear in the examinations whereas 161,556 candidates would sit in the first phase of the examinations.
For the first phase there will be 87 examinations centres- 49 for male and 38 for female candidates. The second phase of the examinations would be conducted from June 5. The papers of Commerce (Regular) and Arts (Regular and Private) would be held in this phase.
