Advisor to Prime Minister on political affairs Fawad Chaudhary said on Tuesday that the country could not move forward if political decisions would be made in the courts.
He was talking to a private TV channel after the detailed verdict of Supreme Court in contempt case came on surface on Tuesday. He said that Supreme Court gave the reasons of prime minister’s conviction in its detailed judgment. It happened first time in the history of criminal cases in Pakistan that court first gave the short order first and then announced the detailed verdict.
“After decision, court takes the signature of the convict but in this particular case , PM was awarded punishment in short order and when he was on foreign visit, the court issued the detailed decision”, Fawad added.
He said the National Assembly speaker would decide the disqualification of the prime minister but earlier to it he had full right to go in the appeal. He said nothing was going to change but only political instability would be three for some time after the detailed judgment of the court.
He was of the view that Article 63-G was not embedded in the Charge Sheet against the PM, but the court gave the decision by keeping away the arguments in the case, which was not correct.
