Commissioner warns against cheating

Commissioner of Karachi, Roshan Ali Shaikh has directed city administration to assist Karachi Board of Intermediate Education in its efforts to combat all possible cheating attempts, during Intermediate examination that began in the city on Monday. The commissioner has also announced that Section 144 will be imposed within 100 yards radius of the areas surrounding each designated examination centre with no irrelevant person allowed to enter the area, hence absolutely no access to any non relevant individual to the examination center from May 7 to May 31, said commissioner house sources on Monday. The Commissioner ordered that impersonators found substituting for actual candidates must be arrested and in accordance with set rules be sentenced three years imprisonment while the enrollment and registration of the concerned candidates should be canceled for good. Roshan Ali Shaikh directed officials of the district administration to ensure that all photostat shops, within the 100 yards radius of the examination centers are necessarily kept closed from 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m till May 31. Owners of the shops failing to comply with the official directives would not only be fined but their photo copiers (machines) must also be confiscated, said Karachi Commissioner. Similarly no student (candidate) will be allowed to carry along cell phones and these found with them would also be confiscated by the administrative staff assisting the examiners, said the commissioner. Each examination center, till May 31, will be manned by a team of 10 cops supervised by two police officers. He directed all Deputy Commissioners of the city that they, with the assistance of Superintendent – Police, Assistant Commissioners and Deputy Superintendents – Police of their respective areas ensure that exams in the centres located within their jurisdiction begin in time.
