Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Sunday expressed his dismay over weeks-long delay in indictment of Babar Awan in contempt of court charges.
During his meeting with office bearers of Lahore Press Club, the PM complained that contempt issue against Babar Awan took place prior to the proceedings against him but it was deferred for long and the former office bearer of PPP had not been indicted with contempt of court charges yet.
He expressed his wonder over the delay in contempt proceedings and lamented that a verdict against him had been announced.
Babar Awan is currently facing wrath of President Asif Ali Zardari and Gilani for his refusal to appear as defense witness in PM’s contempt case and has been stripped of all party offices and completely alienated.
