Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will chair a meeting of the Judicial Commission today (Monday). Senior judges and members of the commission, including Attorney General for Pakistan Irfan Qadir, Federal Law Minister Farooq H Naik and representative of the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), Khalid Ranjha, will attend the meeting. The Judicial Commission will take up the matter related to the appointment of two ad-hoc and one additional judge in the Supreme Court. After a lengthy meeting of all Pakistan lawyers’ representatives on Saturday, PBC Vice-Chairman Akhtar Hussain had said the appointment of ad-hoc judges had been discouraged by the Supreme Court in its judgments.
