2 tribesmen killed, in Cental Kurram attack on tribal elder

A pro-government tribal elder escaped life attempt, while two tribesmen were killed and a woman was injured when unidentified men attacked the house of Mailk Rehan in Turbat area of Central Kurram on Sunday.
Sources said Rehan’s house was attacked by some 15 militants armed with automatic weapons, killing two tribesmen and injuring a woman.
Rehan was not at home at the time.
Meanwhile, death anniversary of former PPP federal minister Syed Qamar Abbas was observed in Parachinar in which students and local elders took part. Separately, three women and children were among several passengers belonging to the Shia sect who sustained injuries when their passenger van was ambushed by unknown miscreants on Sunday close to Urwala Frontier Corps (FC) Fort in Lower Kurram on Tall-Parachinar Road. Passengers and local sources said a passenger van which was on way to Peshawar was attacked by miscreants with automatic weapons, inflicting injuries on several passengers including three women and children in Lower Kurram on Tall-Parachinar Road.
Local sources said the incident took place close to Urwala FC Fort but the security personnel did not respond to the calls for help.
The injured were immediately rushed to hospital for treatment . The incident sparked panic among the Tori Bangash tribesmen who condemned it and also held meeting of the elders in which they demanded the government deploy troops in Lower Kurram where militants have some control despite presence of troops in Upper Kurram because there is no much tension.

Security forces kill 8 militants in Orakzai

Security forces killed at least eight militants in Mamozai and Khadizai areas of Orakzai Agency on Sunday, official sources said. The security forces targeted militant hideouts in Mamozai and Khadizai and destroyed two of them, source the said.
