Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that deep rooted friendly ties exist between Pakistan and UAE and both sides are unison on various international issues.
He was talking to the Ambassador of UAE Essa Abdullah Al Basha Al Naimi who called on the chief minister on Sunday. Red Crescent Society Board of Directors Chairman Ahmed Humaid Al-Mazrouei, Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Planning and Development chairman and Social Welfare secretary also attended the meeting.
The CM said that United Arab Emirates was a big economic and trade partner of Pakistan and bilateral economic relations were further expanding with the passage of time.
He said UAE had played an important role in the rehabilitation of flood affected during the last flood in Pakistan. He said the active role of UAE in the public welfare projects and development of Pakistan was commendable.
Shahbaz said a comprehensive strategy had been evolved for rapid economic development of the province. He said special attention had been paid to various sectors including livestock, education, health, communications and information technology. Punjab Investment Board was providing complete assistance to foreign investors for investment.
Naimi lauded the socio-economic development in the Punjab province. He said Red Crescent Society of UAE had been established in Pakistan which will help in further expanding the human welfare works.
