Shahbaz Bhatti case: ATC acquits Ziaur Rehman

Anti-terrorism court Saturday acquitted the Shahbaz Bhatti murder case accused Zia-ur-Rahman due to lack of evidence. Former federal minister for minorities Shahbaz Bhatti was shot dead last year in March in Islamabad. However, police have still not arrested the murderers. Police arrested John Alexander soon after the murder but he was released due to lack of evidence. Later on, police issued red warrants for a U.S. resident Abid Malik and a Dubai tenant Ziaur Rehman. This prompted Zia-ur-Rahman’s lawyer Zulfiquar to withdraw his bail petition, while the court disposed off the case.
