Maulana Yousaf Qureshi, khateeb of historical Mohabat Khan Mosque in Peshawar, has trebled the reward for killing US Pastor Terry Jones, saying, “I will give a prize of Rs 4.5 million to those who kill this person.”
Qureshi announced the increase the reward while addressing a demonstration in Peshawar on Friday afternoon. The protest rally was arranged to condemn the US priest who desecrated the Holy Quran recently.
Three days ago, Qureshi had announced a reward of Rs 1.5 million for killing Terry Jones.
During the protest rally, a number of individuals, mostly traders from Peshawar, also announced prizes and rewards for the killer of Jones.
Before leading the rally of a few dozen protesters, Qureshi slammed the immoral and inhumane act of Jones in his Friday sermon.
He urged US authorities and Christian scholars from all over the world to fulfill their responsibilities in this respect.
