LUMS holds moot on criminal justice system

Dr Ali Qazilbash was invited at LUMS on Friday to speak at a conference on criminal justice, titled ‘The Criminal Justice System: Towards a Systematic Approach-Perspectives from Asia and the Pacific’.
The conference was organised by the Hamdard School of Law, Karachi.
Dr Qazilbash delivered a talk on legal education and culture in Pakistan and highlighted the existence of two differentiated educational systems for different economic classes in Pakistan.
In his presentation, he explained how the Law and Policy Department at LUMS is bridging the divide between theory and practice.
He argued for a reconsideration of the legal curriculum in order to bring the bar and bench in Pakistan at par with international standards.
Dr Qazilbash has arranged for three internships for three months with the Advocate General of Punjab office which is a constitutional office that deals with all the cases by and against the Punjab government.
