The city police have constituted a special squad to ensure arrest of proclaimed offenders who have been at large despite their involvement in crimes of various natures.
The decision to this effect was made by Islamabad SSP Muhammad Yousuf Malik while presiding a meeting here Thursday. He said this special squad at Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad police was being constituted to ensure effective crackdown against criminals who have been at large.
The meeting was attended among others by SP (Saddar) Sajid Kinai, SP (City) Muhammad Ilyas, SP (Rural) Faisal Bashir Memon, SP Industrial Area Ishaq Warraich, SP (Investigation) Ch Liaqat Ali and all sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs).
The SSP directed to accelerate the investigation process into cases of car theft, dacoity, kidnapping and resolve the pending cases on priority.
IESCO shutdown programme: Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) on Thursday issued power shutdown programme for various grid stations due to necessary maintenance and routine development work.
According to an IESCO spokesman, power supply of the areas falling under the following grid station/feeders would remain suspended on May 7 (Monday) from 8:30am to 1:30pm at B-Block feeder, Asghar Mall feeder, A-Block feeder, B-Block, Murree Road, A-Block and Asghar Mall.
