PM’s gesture to appear before SC be apprecaited: Yaseen Azad

Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Yaseen Azad said Thursday Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani appeared before the apex court for three times and this gesture should be appreciated.
He said the PM’s gesture showed that he had respect for the courts. To a question, the SCBA president said due process would have to be followed for his disqualification. The decision of the apex court would be forwarded to the National Assembly speaker who will send reference to the Election Commission within 30 days. The Election Commission will decide about this reference within 90 days and it is the authority of the Election Commission to decide it after reviewing the complete background.
The SCBA president said that intra-court appeal can be also submitted against the decision and opined the government is in mood to submit appeal.
PNCA awarded to young comperes: Over 40 young comperes got awards and certificates on completion of two-day compering workshop under Talent Hunt programme of Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) here on Thursday.
Director General PNCA, Tauqeer Nasir, distributed certificates among the participants for their performance during the workshop that was organised by PNCA in collaboration with Ministry of National Heritage and Integration. The talent discovery project was initiated for Talent Bank of PNCA in which a large number of students and youth participate on regular basis. Experts conduct the workshops in the field of singing, dancing, compering, drama and dialogue while PNCA also give opportunities to the participants to perform in different programmes.
Speaking on the occasion, Tauqeer Nasir said, the basic idea behind this programme was to utilize the energy of youth at a level of exploration with a proper platform for supporting their inner abilities. Youngsters selected from various workshops under the Talent Hunt are also given chance to perform in the field of performing arts, he added. The programme is an attempt to explore hidden talent of children, students, youngsters and local artists for promoting and preserving the rich culture of the country as well as refine the talent of students.
From singing to compering, drama acting and dancing, various workshops and training courses have been organized by PNCA under this programme for children and youngsters to express themselves with some techniques to build their own personality and deal the audience in an entertaining way.
‘Pakistan Post serving nation’: Pakistan Post Director General Syed Ghulam Panjtan Rizvi Thursday said the prime objective of the organisation is to serve the nation and not to earn money.
Addressing participants of concluding session of a two-day workshop on ‘Customer Relationship Management’ here at Postal Staff College, he said the services would be further improved to facilitate people. Pakistan Post still has a good business, but due to competition with private sector we should also think for survival of the organisation.
He said that quality service is our priority while customers trust the organization.
Syed Panjtan Rizvi said that the basic things are discipline and hard working, urging the officers to attach their loyalties with the department.
He said that in the current month, he has planned to visit various circles of Pakistan Post across the country. Additional Director General Pakistan Post (Operations) Fazli Sattar Khan said that the aim of the workshop was to raise awareness of the importance of customer focus and to discuss ways and means to identify the customers and their needs.

  1. Does that mean that every time a murderer, rapist or any other criminal comes to court, we should be grateful to them for honoring us with their presence in court ?
