16 killed in bus accident in Gilgit-Baltistan

At least 16 people, including nine personnel of security forces, were killed and 22 others injured when a passenger bus turned turtle and fell into a deep ditch in Kamila Kohistan are of Gilgit-Baltistan on Thursday. The injured also included several personnel of the security forces. Some of the injured were admitted to Kohistan District Headquarter Hospital at Dasu, while others injured seriously were shifted to Ayub Teaching Hospital in Abbottabad. Officials said the passenger bus was on way to Skardu from Rawalpindi and overturned as a result of over speeding.
The officials have so far confirmed 16 deaths and 22 injuries. Those killed two women and two children several personnel of the security forces and two policemen. Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Barrister Masood Kausar expressed deep shock and sorrow over the loss of precious life in the accident. The governor expressed his heartfelt sympathies with members of the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls.
