PML-N President Nawaz Sharif on Thursday directed party workers to continue their protest until the implementation of the judgments of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC).
The PML-N chief was talking to a delegation of party office-bearers and workers from Hafizabad at his residence.
He said Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani should resign from his office after being convicted by the SC.
Nawaz said if the PML-N quit the assemblies, who would stop the government from its unconstitutional acts, therefore, it was necessary to remain in the assemblies to maintain vigilance over the government. “Whenever the PML-N considers that it is the right time to resign from the assemblies, it would surely resign in the best interest of the country,” he added. He claimed that in the forthcoming days, it would be difficult for Prime Minister Gilani to continue in his office, adding that Gilani was dishonoring the constitution and the Supreme Court.
