CDGL to spend Rs 6m laks on repairing eight city roads

Lahore District Coordination Officer Noor-ul-Amin Mengal gave directions on Wednesday for starting patchwork and constructing lanes on eight important roads of the city. He expressed these views in a meeting at the Town Hall.
He said many of the city’s roads can be improved by doing patchwork and that the officers concerned of the CDGL should pay attention to the issue.
He ordered the authorities concerned to start patchwork at Edgerton Road, Park Lane Road, Macleod Road, Beadon Road, Zafar Ali Road, GT Road, Zahoor Elahi Road and Mozang Road. He said these were the city’s main arteries The Lahore DCO directed to repair the drainage system before starting the patchwork. Rs 60 lakhs will be spent on the patchwork on these roads.
Mengal also approved the promotion of 31 senior clerks, while the DCO promoted 31 senior clerks from BS-09 to BS-14 as assistants on the recommendation of a departmental promotion committee. DOC Sahabzadi Waseema Umar chaired a promotion committee meeting at the DCO’s office. HRM DO, the officers concerned from the education, health and finance departments also attended the meeting. The senior clerks who have been promoted include Ghulam Bahadar, Ghulam Jillani, Tanveer Ikram Butt, Amir Muhammad Khan, Abdul Qaim, Tariq Joshep, Tariq Butt, Javed Akhtar, Liaqat Ali, Khalid Jahangir, Rai Ashfaq Hussain, Muhammad Yaseen, Azam Raza, Shahbaz Ahmed, Ijaz Ahmed, Muhammad Bakir Zaidi and Talib Hussain.
