The National Transmission and Despatch Company responded on Wednesday to a recent statement given by an independent power producer (IPP) representative regarding the efficiency of thermal power plants.
An NTDC spokesman said the statement, in which the managers of the IPPs had claimed that the NTDC was regulating the electricity load management, was not based on facts.
He stated that the newly constituted Energy Management Cell (EMC) of the Ministry of Water and Power is responsible for the optimum utilisation of the available capacity in the most efficient manner.
He added that electricity generation was being streamlined by maintaining sufficient fuel stock in close coordination with the IPPs, GENCOs and PSO.
The spokesman said it was hard to believe that the company would prefer inefficient power plants over efficient plants supplying fuel.
