A delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) called on Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday and expressed solidarity with his government in the wake of PM’s conviction by Supreme Court in contempt case.
According to sources, MQM’s Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar led the delegation which comprised MNAs and Coordination Committee members of the party – Senator Babar Ghauri, Hyder Abbas Rizvi, Raza Haroon, Sindh Health Minister Dr Sagher Ahemed and Wasim Aftab.
MQM lauded the PM for upholding Constitution and democracy in performing state duties even after conviction by the apex court.
Expressing solidarity with the PM, leaders of MQM assured their all out support to Gilani in the face of opposition’s demand for his resignation.
