RP recovers stolen tracks

The Railway Police recovered about 30 tonnes of railway tracks on Monday that were stolen from different sections and registered a case against unknown people under Section 550.
Pakistan Railways Police spokesman told APP that acting on a tip-off, the Mandra police along with the Motorway police stopped a truck loaded with railway tracks being shifted from Gujranwala steel mills to Pakistan Steel Mills.
He said all the divisional superintendents have been directed to report missing tracks if any in their respective areas. He said recovered tracks will be sent for chemical analysis.
SSP Railway police Rawalpindi has appreciated the performance of the Mandra police and announced appreciation certificates for them.

security arrangements: Pakistan Railways Police Inspector General Maj Syed Ibn-e-Hussain and DIG Munir Ahmad Chishti visited the Rawalpindi division on Monday to check security arrangements.
Both the officers were received by SSP Railway Muhammad Mukhtar and were briefed about the security arrangements made by the police for the safety of passengers.
Syed Ibn-e-Hussain while talking to media said the security has been tightened at all the railways stations to avoid any untoward incident.
Six illegally constructed shops demolished, four houses sealed: In an operation against illegal construction in the city on Monday, six illegally constructed shops were demolished and four houses were sealed.
According to details, an enforcement team of the Town Municipal Authority, Rawal Town Rawalpindi conducted an operation in Bungish Colony.
Six illegally constructed shops were demolished while four houses in Satellite Town and its adjacent areas that had been constructed without prior approval of the authority were also sealed.
The operation was launched by TMA on the special instructions of Rawal Town Administrator Saif Anwar Jappa under the supervision of Tehsil Municipal and Town Regulation officers while the TMA Enforcement Department inspector and TMA staff carried out the operation.
The administrator warned the officers concerned that they should improve their performance; otherwise disciplinary action would be taken.
He said the survey about dangerous buildings should be completed within shortest the possible time frame so that the residents of such buildings could be served notices to evacuate the buildings before start of the monsoon rains.
